Bobby & Steve’s Offers Lower Price For E85 On ‘Flex Fuel Friday’
July 31, 2012

E85 fuel is generally priced lower than gasoline, but from 4-5 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd, it will be a real bargain at Bobby & Steve’s Mobil on Washington Avenue near 35W. The station will discount the price of E85 by 85 cents per gallon for “Flex Fuel Friday,” a traveling promotion organized by the American Lung Association in Minnesota. Vehicle emissions are the single largest source of air pollution in Minnesota, the ALAMN notes, but flex fuel vehicles filled with locally-produced E85 emit significantly fewer pollutants than similar vehicles running on gasoline.

Not all vehicles can use the fuel, which is made for flex fuel vehicles only -- check your gas cap or fuel lid door or visit CleanAirChoice.org to see a complete listing of vehicles that can use E85. There is a 30 gallon limit per flex fuel vehicle during the promotion.

Supporters of Flex Fuel Friday include the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, American Lung Association in Minnesota and members of the Minnesota Clean Air Choice Team. Those interested in following the Flex Fuel Friday promotion should check the CleanAirChoice.org website for updates.
