FRIDAY, JUNE 22nd 9:00AM - 11:30AM REGISTRATION AND BREAKFAST AT 8:30 AmericInn International Falls 1500 Hwy 71 International Falls, MN 56649 Nearly everything we eat, wear, buy or sell in this country is transported by a truck, train or barge powered by diesel fuel. Unfortunately, this powerhouse fuel is linked to particulate air pollution, threatening the lung health of millions of Americans. Because of toughening federal emissions standards diesel is cleaning up its act. Here in Minnesota we are doing even more, with our first-in-the-nation biodiesel requirement that is reducing emissions as well as moving us closer to a renewable and cleaner transportation fuel. To help you better understand recent changes in diesel fuels and engines, and the growing role of biodiesel in Minnesota’s transportation industry, the American Lung Association in Minnesota is hosting two free workshops on Thursday, June 21st from 2:00pm to 4:30pm and Friday, June 22nd from 9:00am to 11:30am at the AmericInn - International Falls. Hoon Ge of MEG Corp, a nationally recognized fuel expert, will discuss recent refining changes in traditional petroleum diesel and how to recognize and respond to problems with diesel fuels. The events are free, but attendance is limited. Contact Lisa Thurstin at (651) 223-9568 or Lisa.Thurstin@lungmn.org to register.
